Stand and Talk accepted at Linux-Infotage Augsburg!

March 7, 2018

We are excited to announce that we got both a talk about our project as well as a stand accepted at this year’s “Linux-Infotag” in Augsburg/Germany. The Linux-Infotag Augsburg is a local event about free software and the digital society. It is a well-established traditional event that will take place for the 17th time. Unlike FOSDEM, the Linux-Infotag Augsburg is not a meeting for geeks and developers, but also for regular end-users and other parties that want to learn about Linux and other free software projects.

In our experience, many non-technical people transitioning from non-free software to Linux and other free software often complain that the free alternatives do not work as expected. For many of them, this is a showstopper and makes them return to using non-free software for practical (not for idealogical) reasons. We think that many such annoyances could be prevented, if free software would be tested better. By developing SystemTestPortal, we hope to provide the right tool for improving on this situation.

We are confident that by attending the Linux-Infotag Augsburg we will get the chance to convince more people about the importance of proper system testing and, ideally, enlarge the userbase of SystemTestPortal. We already started with preparations for our stand. Our goal is to provide our visitors with a direct, hands-on testing experience and we will do our best to make this idea a reality.
