Back from Linux-Infotag Augsburg

Yesterday, we attended the Linux-Infotag in Augsburg and presented our project both in a 45-minutes-talk and on our stand. First of all, we would like to thank the organizers for giving us this opportunity and for the great organization of this event. It was awesome! Our impression was that both our talk and the stand were received quite well by the audience. Surprisingly, the audience was quite diverse: While most people visiting our stand were surprised once we told them that our system was not a tool to automate testing, the audience in the talk catch the purpose of our mission with much more ease.

SystemTestPortal 1.0.0-rc1 & 1.0.0-rc2 released

The first release-candiates of v1.0.0 are out now! After all features for the v1.0.0 release are completed, we continue testing the SystemTestPortal. The latest feature is the management of members in a project. In addition to this, we fixed some issues with the encoding of urls and some details regarding the user-interface. The road to the release of v1.0.0 of the SystemTestPortal continues and we will keep you up to date.

SystemTestPortal 1.0.0-beta released

March 28, 2018

The beta version of SystemTestPortal 1.0.0 is available now! This update brings a test plan to manually test the SystemTestPortal (yes, we can eat our own dog food now!). Furthermore, several bugs that emerged with the renaming of tests were fixed and the automatic testing of the system was improved. Due to the soon end of the first students project, the documentation for upcoming developers was enhanced and completed. In a few days, we will release the final version of the SystemTestPortal 1.

Stand and Talk accepted at Linux-Infotage Augsburg!

We are excited to announce that we got both a talk about our project as well as a stand accepted at this year’s “Linux-Infotag” in Augsburg/Germany. The Linux-Infotag Augsburg is a local event about free software and the digital society. It is a well-established traditional event that will take place for the 17th time. Unlike FOSDEM, the Linux-Infotag Augsburg is not a meeting for geeks and developers, but also for regular end-users and other parties that want to learn about Linux and other free software projects.

New team members for follow-up project acquired

Our project started as a student project back in April last year. It was designed for a runtime of 12 months. As with all free software projects based on students' work, once the project reaches its designated end as defined by the scholar program, the team will transform from study-motivated collaborators to voluntary collaborators. Since the timetables of students are usually pretty full, there is the risk of future development activities to slow down.

SystemTestPortal 0.11.0 released

Version 0.11.0 of the SystemTestPortal is now available! Your projects and all tests are now stored permanently, even if the server does not run. This important change is accompanied by some bugfixes concerning the exploration of projects and protocols. Presentation at FOSDEM

Daniel presented SystemTestPortal to a broader audience in the Automation and Testing devroom at FOSDEM today! For our project, this was the first event of this kind, and we are proud that we actually made it directly to FOSDEM! The talk was well-received by the attendees, and we received a number of feature requests. We learned that community members prefer to use docker in order to test-drive new (web) applications, and, thus, we will seriously consider providing a docker image in the near future.

SystemTestPortal 0.10.0 released

After a very busy week, we are pleased to announce the immediate availability of SystemTestPortal 0.10.0! This release brings comments which allow users to discuss test cases with other users. Additionally both the name and the description of a project can now be edited. As always we fixed some bugs and improved the overall user experience. SystemTestPortal 0.9.0 released

It is our pleasure to announce the immediate availability of SystemTestPortal 0.9.0. In this release, we implemented the printable layout that allows to print test cases and test sequences directly from your browser. We also added the ability to create labels (with user-selectable colors) and to delete them. Moreover, a number of bugs have been fixed, making the overall UX more smooth. SystemTestPortal 0.8.0 released

We are releasing SystemTestPortal 0.8.0 today! This is basically a bugfix release that closes a number of bugs. We also implemented some internal improvements related to the routing between pages and did more groundwork towards the addition of the persistency layer.
